Lorazepam 0.5mg

Lorazepam belongs to a class of drugs known as benzodiazepines that is used to treat anxiety. It works by affecting certain chemical in the body that cause anxiety when they reach the brain. It also acts on the brain and the central nervous system to produce a soothing effect.

However, should you miss a dose while taking more than 1 dose everyday, take it as soon as you remember except if the time for your next dose is close. In such cases, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take an extra dose to make up for a missed one, and if the missed dose was to be taken during the night, do not take it if you only remember in the next morning without contacting your doctor first.

Lorazepam 0.5mg may be habit-forming and even addictive. To avoid any withdrawal symptoms at the end of your treatment, your doctor may gradually reduce the dosage during the last weeks of the treatment.

Lorazepam 0.5mg comes with a number of minor side effects. Contact your doctor if the following side effects persist or worsen during your treatment: drowsiness, dizziness, loss of coordination, headache, nausea, blurred vision, change in sexual interest/ability, hair loss, constipation, heartburn, or change in appetite. There are also a few serious that may occur even though it is quite unlikely to happen. Ask your doctor for a list of the side effects of Lorazepam 0.5mg and immediately notify them should you suffer from any of the serious side effects.
